ARCNL research well represented at NWO Physics 2026 in Veldhoven
ARCNL had a strong and visible presence at NWO Physics, held on 20-21 January 2026 in Veldhoven. The annual conference brought together the Dutch physics community, and ARCNL research was well represented across the program, from parallel talks and posters to informal conversations on the exhibition floor.
Similar to last year, ARCNL hosted an exhibition booth at the conference. Throughout the two days, the booth proved to be a lively meeting point, welcoming a steady stream of visitors. Many attendees stopped by to learn more about ARCNL’s research, its unique position at the interface of fundamental science and industrial relevance, and the opportunities available for potential PhD students and postdoctoral researchers.

The booth also served as a hub for ARCNL researchers attending the conference, creating a space to exchange experiences and reconnect with colleagues from across the Netherlands. Meanwhile across the room, the book about ARCNL’s history, “ASML and Dutch Physics” by Hein Brookhuis (link to order), was available for sale at the conference book stand.

Scientific contributions from ARCNL were prominent in the conference program. Eight ARCNL researchers presented their work during the parallel sessions, covering a broad range of topics within physics and materials science. In addition, 19 posters by ARCNL researchers were displayed during the poster sessions, sparking in-depth discussions.

Together, the talks, posters, and conversations highlighted the breadth and quality of ARCNL research and demonstrated the strong engagement of its researchers with the wider Dutch physics community. Learn more about ARCNL and the career opportunities we have to offer.
