Open Day
Once a year ARCNL opens its doors to the general public: showing the labs, presenting demonstrations and enabling kids to participate in workshops such as ‘making a light separator’. This year the Open Day attracted many different types of visitors. There were families with kids looking for activities, but the mini lecture given by Oscar Versloto also attracted quite a few individual visitors that were eager to learn more about the nanolithography process.
ARCNL also presented quite a few new demonstrations designed and created by technicians and researchers, for instance: the ‘barbiersstok’ demonstrating light polarization. As a result the ARCNL canteen looked like an attractive nanolithography market.
The ARCNL Open Day is part of the Amsterdam Science Park Open Day that is organized during the national Weekend of Science. This year the Open Day took place on October 7th.
