PhD student Bo Liu (EUV Plasma Processes) has successfully defended his thesis ‘Morphology of liquid tin sheets formed by laser impact on droplets’ at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam on December 13th. Liu carried out his doctoral research in the group of Oscar Versolato.

Liu experimentally studied the interaction of liquid tin microdroplets with a nanosecond-long Nd:YAG laser pulse. The study mainly focused on the underlying fluid dynamics that drives the thinning, fragmentation, and mass redistribution of the liquid target.
