John Sheil: 2023 Teacher of the Year

Members of the study association Mens have elected ARCNL group leader John Sheil as ‘2023 Teacher of the Year’. Sheil is assistant professor at the Vrije Universiteit and teaches the first-year physics course ‘Classical Mechanics’ in the Medische natuurwetenschappen (MNW) bachelor program.

Sheil says, “I am thrilled to get this acknowledgement from the students. Teaching first year students is very rewarding because I can kindle their enthusiasm for a topic at an early stage of their university education, which hopefully they carry throughout the rest of their studies.”

The prize has been awarded annually since 2021.
