Open Dag Amsterdam Science Park
The ARCNL Open Day is on Saturday, October 7th.
Preparations are in full swing with one of the activities attracting a lot of attention: the ‘Magnetic Canon’ demonstration. ARCNL technicians made this demonstration to show in a spectacular way how energy gets converted from electricity to magnetism and finally to kinetic energy.
Open Day visitors can sign up for the ‘experience tour’ and shoot the Magnetic Canon. Lucky shots are rewarded! Visitors are also welcome to step in the state-of-the-art labs to learn how physics and chemistry can lead to smaller and better computer chips.
Tours start in the ARCNL office building. This is also where Wim van der Zande (ASML Research) will give a mini lecture (at 14:00 and 15:30 hours) and where children make their drawings with UV light instead of crayons!
